Sun King aiming for Wee Mac cans this fall

Sun-King-WEEMAC

(Indianapolis, IN) – The one year-old brewery has decided on its third beer to hit cans.

It has been a whirlwind first year in business for Sun King Brewing. The brewery took two medals at the World Beer Cup and the Indy Star reported this past weekend that they were already at about 5,000 barrels/annually. That’s impressive considering “the original business plan had the brewery reaching that rate of production in five years.”

As a form of celebration (or perhaps completely unrelated!), Sun King is bringing Wee Mac Scottish Ale to pounders this fall. This will be its third brew in cans after Osiris Pale Ale and Sunlight Cream Ale.

Per Co-Founder and Brewer, Clay Robinson, “Having just received federal label approval, the artwork is now headed to the color separation specialists, then it will work it’s way to Ball. Current lead time on 16 oz. cans from Ball is around two months so we should be taking delivery by the end of September and releasing Wee Mac Cans in early October (if everything goes according to plan).”

Until then, Sun King has a list of locations where its current cans are available for purchase.
