(New Ulm, MN) – Schell’s announced the second beer in the Stag Series.
Per the website: “Drawing upon our 150 years of brewing knowledge, we are combining our experience, creativity, and curiosity with these new brews. The Stag Series is collection of innovative and experimental, limited-edition beers to be released periodically throughout the year.
The second release in the Stag Series is August Schell’s interpretation of a traditional Belgian Farmhouse Ale. This Farmhouse Ale exhibits an earthy/nutty character due to the generous use of Minnesota Wild Rice, the State Grain of Minnesota.
The Wild Rice is combined with 2-Row, Munich, Vienna, and a touch of Rye malt to create a complementary backbone to the unique fermentation characteristics of the yeast. Dry and thirst quenching, this Farmhouse Ale is hopped with Goldings.

If it’s half as good as the first beer in the series was it’s a must-buy beer!
I live in Rochester MN and I want to know who will carry this!
It is nowhere near as good as Schells Dark. It smells like a campfire and taste like smoked roadkill! I live in Chaska, Mn. and MGM carries it.
