(Baltimore, MD) – Received a message from Brad over at BeerinBaltimore.com.
Baltimore is one of many cities in the U.S. celebrating craft beer with a week of events. Here’s an introduction to Baltimore Beer Week courtesy of the website’s About page.
“On the heels of the very successful Inaugural Baltimore Beer Week in October 2009, the organizing committee for Baltimore Beer Week 2010 has taken on the challenge of making this year’s event even better. Event founder, Joe Gold, recently commented ‘that as the economy stymied last year, our event seemed to breathe a new energy into the regional beer scene.’
Who could have predicted such a groundswell of interest from the beer community and with over 375 individual events last year, the emphasis this year will be on the quality of the events versus the quantity. Promotions coordinator, Dominic Cantalupo, stated that ‘while we were more successful than we anticipated, we feel the need to drive the Beer Week to a higher level and we have a determination to incorporate more ancillary or fringe businesses, if you will, into the overall event. We envision broadening the spectrum of brands and events and enlightening more of the macro-minded consumers.’
Baltimore definitely has its own unique beer culture that extends beyond the Chesapeake Bay region and as we all become more globally oriented, why not let beer be our ambassador. Baltimore Beer Week 2010 has retained the talented and dedicated volunteer committee that made last year a winner and with support from our Flagship Sponsor, Heavy Seas Beer, Media Sponsor, The City Paper, and an ever-growing list of additional sponsors forming a firm foundation, the foam will again rise to the top.”
