Firestone Walker 14, others heading to the East Coast

(Paso Robles, CA) – Some recent updates on Firestone Walker 14 and distribution from Firestone Walker Brewing . . .

In the video below uploaded a couple weeks back, Brewmaster, Matt Brynildson (a.k.a. the most misspelled last name in beer), speaks about the Firestone Walker anniversary blends. He believes that Firestone Walker Parabola will once again be a major component of the blend which will be determined by area wine-makers sometime this fall. Brynildson also mentions Abacus and a new beer called Sticky Monkey (no info out there yet) as possible components.

Perhaps the bigger news is that Firestone Walker will begin distributing to the East Coast for the first time and 14, among others, has been selected as one of the beers that will be shipped. Here’s the post from Export Director, John Bryan, on RateBeer (hat tip to The Full Pint):

“Firestone Walker will have five beers from the FW line on the East Coast in 2011. Two will be year-’round, Walker’s Reserve and Double Jack. There will be three, and possibly more, barrel-aged limited releases. These include Anniversary “14”, Parabola, and Abacus. (14 will show up in November 2010.) Package format will be 22oz, and draft availability on Walker’s Reserve and Double Jack. There may be some limited release kegs also, but not much.”

A post on the brewery’s Facebook wall confirmed that beers are indeed headed to the East Coast in the future. The Full Pint reports that FW 14 is also Colorado-bound, a first for an anniversary blend.

  1. Oh, great! If it hasn’t been hard enough to find a decent supply of the previous Anniversaries, now your gonna dilute the local stock by shipping off some of the already limited supply back east? How about waiting a month and then take back anything that hasn’t sold out here. They’re only East Coasters, so they’ll be happy with leftovers.
