(Manchester, NH) – Some good news and some bad news out of New Hampshire this evening.
First, the bad news . . .
Manchester Brewing‘s Kevin Bloom sent out this message within the past hour:
“The partners decided to pull the plug on the brewery after our MA distributor apparently changed their minds about buying kegs from us. Let that be a lesson to prospective brewers—self distribute yes! I was willing to stick it out without being paid but we were losing too much money every month. Thank you for your support, see you next time!”
Bottles of Emperor Norton’s Cinnamon Stout were on sale for $2/bomber this week in some places. If you’re a fan of Bloom’s work, now is the time to grab what’s out there.
Meanwhile, over in Effingham, The Prodigal Brewery is one step closer to releasing beer to the public. More on Paul Davis and the story behind his brewery can be found here. Non-Facebook members can click here (yes, it’s that hard to find a public link to that story).
A couple weeks ago, Prodigal got draft collar approval for its first beer, a Munich-style golden lager called Effinghamburgherbrau.
