(Munster, IN & Chicago, IL) – Two Three Floyds Brewing-related notes of interest, especially to those in/around Chicago.
Here’s a tidbit from Blabbermouth.net: “PELICAN will play Chicago’s Bottom Lounge on October 23, joined by longtime friends and occasional collaborators THE LIFE & TIMES. Munster, Indiana’s THREE FLOYDS BREWERY — recognized internationally as one of the most unique and distinguished micro-breweries in the country — will celebrate the event by unveiling a special, PELICAN-dedicated Doppelbock (one of the few styles of beer all four band members regularly agree upon). The as-yet-unnamed ale will be served at the Chicago show and at select watering holes and specialty shops around the Chicagoland area for a limited time.”
I haven’t listened to much of the band’s work but of what I have heard so far, I am partial to Sirius.
According to Revolution Brewing, the brewery debuted Sodom, its 11% ABV Imperial Stout collaboration with Three Floyds, at the Great Taste of the Midwest. The beer was also tapped for the first time at the Chicago-based brewpub last night. “I wish there was tons of the Sodom to sell, but after putting some away in bourbon barrels and filling a few kegs for the Three Floyds pub, there’s not a lot left so come and get it while you can.” No word on when Three Floyds will release its allocation Munster or whether there is any left in Chicago.
