(Portland, OR) – Widmer Brothers Brewing is set to release its third beer in the limited series this fall.
The Brothers’ Reserve Series that Widmer Brothers launched last year will soon induct its third member. Widmer Brothers Barrel Aged Brrrbon should arrive on shelves around October 1st. The beer, which has been aging in Kentucky bourbon barrels, will be packaged in 22 oz. bottles with a SRP of $12.99 and 1/6 barrels.
Official description: “Hidden in the beautiful dark amber color are aromas of vanilla and caramel that compliment perfectly the presence of bourbon. Soft oak flavors transition into a sweet yet slightly dry finish. After aging the ale for four months, the malt and hop complexity of Brrr has melded harmoniously with the bourbon barrels and become a truly one of a kind beer.”
Beer stats: 9.4% ABV, 50 IBU, 18 OG
Also of note, Widmer Brothers Brrr is the brewery’s first seasonal to be released in 12-packs. They should hit shelves around the same time as Brrrbon.
