Captain Lawrence Brewing Update

(Pleasantville, NY) – Captain Lawrence Smoke from the Oak Wine Barrel gets a new look and some other brewery tidbits.

From the latest newsletter:

“We will have Pumpkin Ale available in the tasting room and out at the local bar and restaurants starting Friday, October 1st. A nice rich amber ale with hints of pumpkin pie spices and the flavors of fall, this was our best selling seasonal last year, so get it while it lasts!

We have finely secured a great source of Apple Brandy Barrels and will be releasing a new batch of Golden Delicious every few months or so. It is currently available in the tasting room and in area stores that carry craft beer.”

The brewery noted on Twitter that Pumpkin Ale is a 120 barrel batch.

SF IPA, which Captain Lawrence Founder/Brewmaster, Scott Vaccaro, co-brewed with Ithaca Beer Co.‘s Jeff O’Neil and others is tearing it up in ratings on Beer Advocate and currently ranks 9th on the buzz list. Ratings are still coming in so it’s on tap somewhere. More info on the brew can be found here.

Finally, as seen above, the Smoke from the Oak Wine Barrel label got a slight makeover. It will still be sold in 750s. Unfortunately, I have no information at this time when the next release will be.
