(Ithaca, NY) – Ithaca Beer Co. is going big this coming year.
Executive Brewer, Jeff O’Neil, appeared on The Brewing Network show this past Sunday and had great news to report. According to O’Neil, the brewery is projected to hit 11,000 barrels this year which would be approximately a 30% increase from 2009. Things are going so well that Ithaca is going to build a new facility behind the current one.
They just bought 80 acres located approximately 500 yards behind the brewery. The plan is to eventually have a restaurant and brew garden with the ability to host events and concerts as well. The new brewery will have a capacity of 25k to 30k barrels.
In other news, this winter marks Ithaca’s 13th anniversary and O’Neil hopes that Le Bleu will be ready for release at the end of the year.
In addition to all of the above, O’Neil talks at length about his sour beers, SF IPA and Flower Power for well over an hour. If you are an Ithaca fan, check out the link above.
