(Bridgewater, VT) – Long Trail Brewery is set to celebrate 100 years of the Long Trail.
The brewery will replace Winter White this year with a new brew in the Brewmaster Series according to a brewery rep. Long Trail Centennial Red (an Imperial Red) will be released in early November in 22 oz. bottles, following the Imperial Porter. 7.9% ABV. The beer celebrates 100 years of the Long Trail.
The brewery, which began in 1989, is named after a hiking trail in Vermont. Per Wikipedia, the trail extends 272 miles, “running the length of the state. It is the oldest long-distance trail in the United States[1], constructed between 1910 and 1930 by the Green Mountain Club. The club remains the primary organization responsible for the trail, and is recognized by the state legislature as ‘the founder, sponsor, defender, and protector’ of the Long Trail System.
