(Milton, DE) – Dogfish Head and Three Floyds have another collaboration in the works.

[11/10 Update: Per Three Floyds, Poppaskull will be released at Three Floyds Pub on Friday, 11/19 at 5pm.]

[11/6 Update: Per Dogfish.com, this beer will be released in November. This time around we brewed at our brewery in Milton, DE and made a deep, golden ale spiced with cardamom and fermented using a robust Belgian yeast strain. One third of the volume was then aged for 6 months in oak brandy barrels. Spice, esters, and sweet brandy dominate the aroma. A robust 10% abv is rounded by caramel and vanilla notes from the wood with a slight spiciness coming from the yeast. Early plans for distribution include, Delaware, Massachusetts and the Midwest. More details to come.”]

[9/22 Update: From Dogfish HQ: “Release is sometime in October.” The beer will be released in both Delaware and the Midwest (states unknown).]

The two breweries met up at the Dogfish Head facility in Milton this past spring to brew what will soon be their second collaboration to hit bottles. The tandem released Popskull last year, described as an, “Old School, German Brown Ale with Palo Santo Wood and Botanicals.” Now comes an entirely different brew called Poppaskull.

Label copy: “Poppaskull is a collaborative brew between Dogfish Head and Three Floyds. It’s a kinda-sorta Belgian-esque style golden ale fermented with a touch of green cardamom and 35% aged in oak brand barrels.” The beer is 9.5% ABV and available in 750s.

No word yet on release details but stay tuned…may or may not have a bit more release information later today.
