(Independence, OR) – Rogue Ales Master Brewer John Maier has truly waxed poetically in the creation of this year’s Mogul Madness Ale. This dark, hearty brew pairs malt flavors with hoppiness. It is created especially for the coldest winter’s night. A Rogue classic, Mogul Madness bottle graphics pay homage to skiers, snowboarders, and free-heelers everywhere. And just in case you forget your headlamp, the snowflakes on the bottle are GLOW-IN-THE-DARK.
A strong ale, Mogul Madness is brewed using 13 ingredients: Great Western 2-Row, Maier Munich, Crystal 135/165, Chocolate Malts and Rogue Micro Barley Farm DareTM Malts; Saaz, Columbus, Chinook, Rogue Micro Hopyard Revolution, Rebel, Freedom Hops; Pacman Yeast & Free Range Coastal Water. Mogul Madness brewing specifications are 16.5º PLATO, 68 IBU, 77.7 AA, 36º L.
Mogul Madness has been the king of winter beers since 1991, winning a Gold Medal at the 2010 World Beer Championships. It is dedicated to the Mogul in all of us.
In early November Mogul Madness will be available in serigraphed 22oz bottles and on draft in town, as well as at ski resorts, mountain communities, and anywhere people are bold enough to bend their knees, point their tips, and brace themselves for the challenge of a world-class dark ale. Mogul Madness will also offer a glow-in-the-dark, black, long sleeve tee. For more information call (541) 867-3660 or visit www.rogue.com
In the making of Mogul Madness, Rogue Ales uses hops from our 42-acre micro hopyard located in Oregon’s Wigrich Appellation and malt from the Rogue GYO barley farm which is located in Oregon’s Tygh Valley Appellation. Rogue remains committed to saving the terroir of Oregon hops and barley, one acre at a time, by growing our own.
