(Baltimore, MD) – Stillwater Ales is set to debut another Belgian-style beer in bottles next month.

Back in April, I wrote a short blurb about this beer, “In May, [Stillwater Founder/Brewer, Brian Strumke] is visiting Belgium to brew Stillwater Import Series #2, A Saison Darkly. It is a dark saison brewed with hibiscus and rose hips that give it a tart, floral quality with roasted malts giving it the dark color.” ABV is 8%.

Fast forward a few months and the beer, which was brewed at Sint Canarus in Deinze-Gottem, is almost ready to be shipped to the U.S. According to Twelve Percent Imports’ Brian Ewing, “This will ship within the next couple weeks and will be on shelves by mid-October. We plan to distribute it throughout the U.S. in very limited quantity. Specfic markets where it’s certain to pop up are NY, MD, DC, PA, IL, CA, OR, NC, SC. Probably a handful of others as well but that’s tbd.”

This is a pretty small batch at only 14hl (~12 U.S. barrels) split between 33cl bottles and 20l key kegs so availability will be very limited in these markets.
