(Denver, CO) – Events have already been going in town all week but the big fest starts today.
The 2010 Great American Beer Festival was sold out a while ago in record time in case you were wondering though you can still get tickets on Craigslist if you are in the area. Unfortunately, I didn’t make it out there so no “live coverage” from me. HOWEVER…
This year’s Brewers Studio Pavilion sessions are supposedly being broadcast live (with video) on the web, so if you check back here at 8:30pm EST/6:30 pm MST tonight (as well as Friday and Saturday night perhaps?), I may just have a surprise for you (assuming I’m able to embed the video). If you check in on Saturday at 3pm EST/1pm MST, that is when the GABF Competition winners will be announced. That should also be broadcast and will be up live here. The Brewing Network is the one putting the video online and the list of Pavilion events they’re taping can be found here.
The video is obviously out of my control but hopefully it goes off without a hitch so that those of us not in attendance can still enjoy from home. Regardless of whether the awards ceremony is broadcast, the winners list will be posted immediately right after (probably around 5pm EST). I will have some kind of write-up ready to go on Saturday night as I normally do or, at worst, on Sunday morning.
Here is the official site of the fest with tons of information, maps, brewery lists, etc. If you’re in Denver, a list of events can be found here. Beer Advocate also put together a nice guide for fest newbs.
