(Portland, OR) – Widmer Brothers Brewing will bring a long-time favorite to bottles this winter.

Widmer Brothers KGB Imperial Stout has appeared on tap on a very limited basis over the years though beer drinkers far and wide will now have a much better chance to try this beer. Distribution details and a release date have not yet been announced though the last three editions of the Brewmasters’ Release Series were each released in January of their respective years. 2009’s debut of Widmer Brothers Pitch Black actually happened in late December.

To date, this is Widmer Brothers’ top-rated beer on RateBeer though it only rates in the 68th percentile in the highly-competitive Imperial Stout category.

Label copy: “This long-time favorite brewers’ choice beer was created to help us challenge expectations and keep us true. We now expose it to you. Using roasted barley, chocolate malt and Midnight Wheat, KGB had a color that is as dark as a torrid past, a body as full as a well kept dossier, and a taste as complex as a conspiracy theory.” 9.3% ABV.
