(Houston, TX) – Some tidbits from the Lone Star State…
Saint Arnold Brewing will release the latest in its Divine Reserve Series in just over two weeks. Chris Landis of Kuykendahl Gran Brewers won the Big Batch Brew Bash competition this year and earned the honor of getting his recipe, an English-style Barleywine, re-brewed at the Saint Arnold facility. The beer will be released in 6-packs as Divine Reserve #10 on Tuesday, November 2nd. Houston Chronicle’s Ronnie Crocker wrote more on it back in August. Crocker notes that Movable Yeast Series beer #2, Altared Ale, will be pushed to December 1st as a result.
In addition, Barley Vine reported an item of interest this week with respect to Divine Reserve #9. According to Saint Arnold’s Brock Wagner, DR 9 Imperial Pumpkin Stout will make a comeback next year as a recurring seasonal (to be called The Pumpkinator). Here is BV’s description of the beer:
“Bottled on 11 November of last year it is the strongest of the Divine Reserves weighing in at 11%. It pours a dark ruby brown color with a lot of pumpkin still present on the nose. Lots of pumpkin pie spice as well along with a good dose of chocolate and roasted malts. It’s a full bodied beer, lots of chocolate, spices, pumpkin. This tastes AMAZINGLY still. Lots of all spice, cinnamon, brown sugar.”
