In this edition…updates from Surly Brewing, Cigar City Brewing, Mikkeller, BrewDog, Stone, Smuttynose and Hill Farmstead.
[11/16 Correction: My apologies to Stone and readers…Lukcy Basartd is available on tap in some areas but not in bottles yet. The official bottle release date is November 22nd.]
From Surly Brewing on Facebook: The SMOKE release party will be next Monday, November 22, at The Bulldog Lowertown.
From Cigar City Brewing‘s Joey Redner, Warmer Winter Winter Warmer will be brewed in December and will be sent to Florida, NY and PA. When asked about Tocobaga he hinted that the brewery may consider bottling in the future. Also, the CCB online petition is now up to nearly 600 sign-ups. Can it hit 1,000 before December 1st?
From Mikkeller, “This Tuesday, November 16, Mikkel Borg Bjergsø and I are going to Scotland to brew at Brewdog with Nøgne Ø. The plan is to mix the three wildest and blackest beer that Mikkeler, BrewDog and Nøgne Ø have ever brewed. As far as Mikkeller goes we open with Black. Nøgne Ø contributes with their Dark Horizon and BrewDog will pour their strongest card in that category, Tokyo*, into the mix. This monster of a black Imperial-Imperial-Imperial Stout is expected to be available from early 2011.” Meet the brewers at BrewDog Aberdeen on Thursday, November 18th.
Speaking of BrewDog, the brewery is searching for its next bar location and a merchandise artist.
Stone Brewing‘s Lukcy Basartd is now on tap in some places and is officially hitting shelves on November 22nd. The brewery is holding its “Most Arrogant Bar in America” competition this week as well. Which bar will sell the most Stone beer this week?
Smuttynose Brewing announced details about its Big Beer Series subscription program.
Attention Pennsylvania folks: from Bella Vista Distributors on Facebook, “Hill Farmstead Brewery beers have landed on our dock! Citra IPA~ holger dankse smoked ale~ Arthur Saison~ and James Black IPA!~ We so wanna call it Rick James!”
Awesome, thansk for the updates.
BTW, I can’t find the other Asterisk in the footnotes regarding the “Tokyo*” reference.
Thanks! I copied that directly from the Mikkeller site where there was no other asterisk either but I believe it to be referring to the naming conflict with the name Tokyo, mostly in the U.S. The TTB doesn’t allow countries to be displayed on a beer label unless the beer is from that country or the name is part of the style such as Irish red ale or india pale ale.
