(Baltimore, MD) – How better to celebrate 15 years of Clipper City Brewing / Heavy Seas Beer than to pay tribute to Elvis?
According to its website, Hugh Sisson left his family’s brewpub, the first of its kind in Maryland, to found Clipper City Brewing in 1994. The following year, Clipper City, now branded as Heavy Seas, began operation. That came right before a downturn in the craft beer industry. Fortunately, 15 years later, things are quite cheery in the industry as Heavy Seas prepares Thank You, Thank You Very Much as its anniversary beer.
Considering this is the 15th anniversary year, one would think the beer will be released within the next couple months though the brewery hasn’t published any information or made note of the beer’s release in any of its events yet. All we know for now is that it will be an 8% ABV Double IPA.
In other news, watch for the release of Below Decks Barleywine in late November. “Our English style barleywine which is rich and malty. Great at the time of release, it will age wonderfully for many years to come.” YuleTide Belgian Tripel will be launched on December 16th at Max’s in Baltimore.
Finally, the brewery expanded distribution to Alabama this week.
