(Portland, ME) – Maine-based Peak Organic Brewing has released its newest seasonal.
Peak Organic Winter Session Ale has arrived on shelves in 6-packs.
Beer description: “This winter wheat beer uses dark malting to provide subtle toasty notes. We then single-hop and dry-hop this beer with Citra hops from our friend Brad’s farm. Interesting pineapple notes from the Citra hop provide a stark contrast to the toasty notes in the body. An engaging and sessionable Winter Seasonal. ABV: 5%, IBUs: 62.”
The Citra hop continues to gain momentum in the craft brewing community. I’m not sure what the Citra supply looks like but demand will only increase for this hop over the years. Don’t be surprised to find it among the five most-frequently used hops in the U.S. some day.
On another note, Peak Organic will be participating in this weekend’s Maine Brewers Festival (sold out) where one would expect this beer to be available for sampling.
Good info! We’ve been looking forward to trying this beer for a while. For people in New England who are interested in trying it, it’s on the pour list for New Hampshire Brewers Fest as well (run by the same people as Maine Brewers Fest).
