(Spartanburg, SC) – RJ Rockers will re-launch Black Perle Dark IPA next Thursday.

The release party takes place next Thursday at the brewery. According to RJ Rockers’ Case Wood, “Black Perle should hit the shelves the week of Nov 15th. We’ll be doing between 400 and 500 cases to be distributed throughout the Southeast (SC, GA, NC, VA, DC, MD). This beer is brewed on a pre-order basis so as soon as it’s packaged, it’s on its way to the distributors. We will be kegging some of this beer, but most is bottled [in 22 oz. bombers].”

Per the website, “This is the first release in the Ales from the Dark Side Series, a dark, roasted twist on the traditional IPA that uses an absurd amount of malt and is ‘octo-hopped’ with the German Perle hop. The biggest beer in the RJ Rockers lineup to date. 9.5% abv.”

Label copy: “In the late 17th century the Honourable East India Company lost one of its ships on a return voyage from the Indies. The flagship, The Harvester, was attacked by malay pirates and sank beneath the swells into darkness. It is said that The Harvester was carrying a strange and wondrous cargo known to the company as Black Perle. This once lost treasure has now risen from the depths allowing the world to discover its mystery.”
