(Boston, MA) – Despite receiving label approval for both its Belgian-style IPA and Revolutionary Rye, Boston Beer Co. has named the latter the winner.
The brewery may still have plans for the former though the results are now official. Beer Advocate Co-Founder, Jason Alstrom, broke the news on Twitter on Tuesday night and the St. Louis Post Dispatch’s Evan Benn followed up with more info on Wednesday:
The winning brew, Samuel Adams Revolutionary Rye, will be available in January as part of a new variety pack called American Originals. The 12-bottle packs, which will sell for $14-$16, include two bottles each of Revolutionary Rye, Boston Lager, Noble Pils (last year’s Beer Lover’s Choice winner), Scotch Ale, Irish Red Ale and White Ale.
…In other news, the Infinium collaboration brew is drawing closer to store shelves in the U.S. There are two new videos about the beermaking process live on the Samuel Adams website since I last posted about it.
The latest word is that the beer should be available by mid-December though that is only from one report and all other reports say something along the lines of “soon” or “in the weeks ahead.” Keep tabs on it here.
