(Baltimore, MD) – Stillwater Artisanal will debut Stillwater Existent Ale very soon.
This ‘black hoppy farmhouse ale should hit shelves in 750ml bottles and draft by mid-December says 12 Percent Imports’ Brian Ewing. Expected distribution markets include: NY, MD, DC, PA, IL, CA, OR, NC and SC. Stillwater Ales landed in Connecticut late last month and just arrived in Vermont this week though I haven’t confirmed whether these new markets will get Existent. Stillwater’s Brian Strumke says that some casks will debut in mid-November. Hops include: Chinook, Summit, Columbus, Nugget and Simcoe. ABV is 7.4%.
Label copy: “Existent represents the philosophy behind Stillwater Artisanal. We strive to define ourselves through our passion and sincerity while accepting that not all aspects of life are readily explainable. To manifest this ideology, we present an ale of intrigue. Black as night though deceptively dry, braced by a firm yet not over-powering bitterness and accented by an earthy hop and mild roast aroma. This is an ale for you to define…’and if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.’ – Nietzsche”
In other news, Stillwater Ales was featured in The Atlantic late last month as part of an article on nomadic brewers.
