(Escondido, CA) – Here are the latest news tidbits on Stone Brewing…
* 22 oz. and 3 liter bottles of the 2010 batch of Double Bastard Ale hit shelves yesterday for the first time. Bottles and kegs will continue rolling out through the distribution channel over the coming weeks.
* Attention homebrewers! The brewery posted up a homebrew recipe for Stone 10.10.10 Vertical Epic Ale recently. You can also access homebrew recipes from other VE editions here.
* Arrogant Bastard Ale will soon be featuring an additional message on its back label…a mini ‘mission statement’ of sorts…
“At Stone Brewing, we believe that pandering to the lowest common denominator represents the height of tyranny – a virtual form of keeping the consumer barefoot and stupid. Brought forth upon an unsuspecting public in 1997, Arrogant Bastard Ale openly challenged the tyrannical overlords who were brazenly attempting to keep Americans chained in the shackles of poor taste. As the progenitor of its style, Arrogant Bastard Ale has reveled in its unprecedented and uncompromising celebration of intensity. There have been many nods to Arrogant Bastard Ale…even outright attempts to copy it… but only one can ever embody the true nature of liquid Arrogance.”
* As for the RFP / Europe location search, I’m awaiting word from the brewery as to whether there is anything I can report. Until then (could even be today), here is an article from last month with the latest public info, to my knowledge, on the search.
