Plainfield’s Black Swan Brewpub celebrates its Grand Opening on Dec. 4 with the tapping of a limited-release beer.

(Plainfield, IN) — Black Swan Brewpub, a locally owned and operated family friendly brewpub in Plainfield, Ind., will hold its Grand Opening on Saturday Dec. 4. The brewpub, located at 2067 E. Hadley Rd. in Plainfield, will offer special prizes, live music and a special beer tapping.

On Dec. 4, Black Swan Brewpub will let the taps flow on Poppa Skull, a collaboration beer from Dogfish Head Craft Brewery and Indiana’s Three Floyds Brewing Co. Poppa Skull, a one of a kind American Brown Ale, is available in limited quantities and only at select locations, like Black Swan Brewpub.

Black Swan Brewpub was started by D.J. and Erin McCallister. D.J., a native of Beech Grove, Indiana, and a graduate of Wabash College, started in the Indiana brewing industry more than a decade ago and is a former head brewer at Lafayette Brewing Company.

D.J. has brought his passion for craft beer to Indianapolis’ west side.

“Indiana is becoming a national leader in quality microbrews, and Black Swan Brewpub is proud and excited to bring our combination of craft beer and great food to Southwest Indianapolis,” he said.

Located just northwest of Interstate 70 and U.S. Hwy 276, Black Swan Brewpub boasts 16 taps. With a focus on Indiana craft beers, Black Swan offers up favorites like the Tripel de Ripple from Brugge Brassiere, Elector Imperial Red and 15-B Porter from New Albanian Brewing Company, and Alpha King from Three Floyds Brewing Company.

Black Swan also serves up a fresh take on traditional pub favorites, including its Reuben sandwich, which features in-house corned beef, and its juicy Black Swan Bison Burger. Black Swan sources its meats locally, including beef from Fisher Farms, Viking Farms’ lamb and Maple Leaf Farms’ duck.

In February 2011, Black Swan will open the doors on its brewery. D.J. plans to fill all 16 taps with in-house brewed craft beer. The Swan also will have two hand pulls that will be in service once the brewery is up and running for a total of 18 taps.
