(Lexington, MA) – Here is the latest on Clown Shoes Beer per Sean Geary…
“To update on our beer projects, Pecan Pie Porter was a hit and we sold out of our batch in 8 days. There are still some stores with the beer available but it is going fast. Next on the agenda is our 1st Anniversary beer, Hoppy Feet 1.5. It is a big beer, clocking in at over 10% with 1.5 times the ingredients of the original. Look for this in late December or early January. After that, we will be releasing a Belgian IPA dubbed Tramp Stamp. Our aim was to create a wonderful example of a Belgian-style IPA by combining delicate floral hops with the same Chambly yeast found in our Clementine wit. Look for Tramp Stamp later on in January or February.
We are also running a contest to find a Grandmaster of Ceremonies for our planned Clown Shoes Olympics coming in the spring. The event will be a nice little festival at a local farm complete with games, a band, contests, and of course beer.”

Contest for a Grandmaster of Cermemonies
This morning I looked up some definitions and discovered the raw power of the word, contest, was quite poorly conveyed. As an example, from thefreedictionary.com, a contest is
1. A struggle for superiority or victory between rivals.
2. A competition, especially one in which entrants perform separately and are rated by judges.
To me, a contest is
3. A soul purging battle for awesomeness that spectators and contestants partake in to allow the brain to pump seratonin, adrenaline, and hope into the dark spaces.
Clown Shoes, while having a few teeny weeny little giveaways so far, hasn’t made a proper splash in the contest department.
Therefore, I am announcing The Clown Shoes Olympics. They are purely in the concept phase, but I am aiming for the second quarter of 2011.
To get things started, let’s roll out a Contest for a Grandmaster of Ceremonies. The prize includes:
$200 in beer related gift certificates, helping to plan and execute the event, Clown Shoes Swag, running one hundred yards with a torch made out of a bottle of Clown Shoes before igniting the festivities, and, of course, going down in the records as the first ever Clown Shoes Olympics Grand Master of Ceremonies.
To enter the contest, in the comments section of the Clown Shoes blog post, give your name, hometown, occupation, and two reasons that the Clown Shoes team should pick you.
