(Bellaire, MI) – Short’s Brewing brings back a summer collaboration beer for the winter.
Freedom of ’78 Pure Guava IPA has been brewed for a second time and will now be sold in Michigan. Per today’s brewery blog post:
Our first ever collaboration effort with another brewery is here and available in bottles!
This beer was our first ever collaboration effort w/ another brewery. Brewed together w/ a brewery based in Chicago IL, called 1/2 Acre Brewing Company, this beer was just as much fun to make as it is to drink. The collaboration concept was first conceived when Joe visited the 1/2 Acre Brewery back in May, and quickly realized that the two company’s had a lot in common. The first version was brewed this past June, in Chicago at 1/2 Acre’s brewing facility, and packaged in 22oz bottles. This past October, the 1/2 Acre crew came up to N. Michigan, and brewed a batch at our facility in Elk Rapids. We decided at that time to package it in 12oz 6-packs.
This is a 6.9% ABV IPA. Tasting notes can be found over at the Short’s Brewing blog.
Does anyone else notice the less than subtle Ween references on the label? Very nice.
Those references aren’t subtle. Freedom of 78 video is the bottle and the beer has ‘pure guava’
