(Eugene, OR) – Ninkasi Brewing prepares for a big 2011.
2011 marks the first full year that Ninkasi will be brewing on its 60-barrel system, one capable of 90,000 barrels annually. As the fastest-growing regional craft brewery, it will likely make its way into the top 50 craft breweries in terms of production this year. Who knows how high in the list it will land in 2011?
Co-Owner Nikos Ridge notes two changes Ninkasi has up its sleeve for the future. One is 12 oz. bottles. Through this point, the brewery has been growing with just 22 oz. bottles and draft sales. However, beginning March 1st, Total Domination and Spring Reign will make it to 12 oz. bottles. Ridge actually used the phrase, “our seasonal,” here so I’m making an assumption that all seasonals will be bottled starting with Spring Reign.
Additionally, a previous draft-only release, Renewale makes its 22 oz. bottle debut next month. The beer will replace Sleigh’r as the winter seasonal and be available through February. Ridge says that this version is a former one-off brew.
Label description: “A new year a new beer! Each year, Renewale will be something new and special to enjoy while winter runs its course. For 2011, we brewed a delicious Irish-style red ale that’s smooth and refined with a hint of toasted malt and a clean finish. A great beer for a new year, cheers!”
