(Shiner, TX) – New approvals coming through for 2011…
First up is Shiner 102, the latest in Spoetzl Brewery‘s line of anniversary beers. This year’s edition is called Double Wheat. This one is heading to 6 packs and kegs come February, according to a Spec’s Beer rep. on Beer Advocate.
Back label description: “Here at the little brewery in Shiner, TX, we are happy to serve up our latest anniversary brew, Shiner 102. With a special recipe that sits between a bright wheat and a wheat wine, this smooth, filtered, double wheat pours a pale straw color with hints of sweetness. The aromatic Czech Saaz and Washington Golding hops along with the crisp character of malted wheat are sure to refresh your senses.”
In addition, label approval came in this past June for Shiner Light Blonde. It has been approved for 6-packs, cans and kegs.
I wish I lived in Texas and my local grocery had these
Oooooh, these look good. Now if they’d just put Kosmos in six-paqs.

ya flem i jus dont understand these bohunks and germans. seems like theyd wanna make more money by makin their best beers available all the time. (like frost and 96) kosmos is very good too. when i go to kroger i always rob the other six packs of kosmos to make me a six pack lol. my uncles and grandpa would turn over in their graves if they knew shiner changed premium to blonde lol. when i was a kid and would go to the church picnics in shiner they would bring the beer directly from the brewery. that was before distributors.
Could you tell me where I can get a keg of the Shiner Blonde Light for my kegerator in the Houston area?
No idea Sheri. Spec’s is my best guess. May want to contact the local distributor or liquor retailers.
Where in scottsdale or Phoenix AZ can you purchase a 6 pak of Shiner Light Blonde? Thank you.
