(Philadelphia, PA) – But before you get too excited…

Trubbel de Yards was a seasonal around the time that Yards Brewing first opened in 1996. After a while, the Belgian-style Dubbel went away entirely; judging by Beer Advocate reviews, it has been years since this was last brewed. If you’re hoping to get a taste, it will probably be a special event though as this isn’t going to be widely released.

Here’s the official word from Marketing and Sales Director/Utility Infielder, Steve Mashington:

“It’s just a small test batch. It won’t be released for a large audience. There are no bottles, about 5 sixtels and maybe a firkin or two. It’s a pre-cursor to something we might do in 2013. Since we have our pilot brewery up and running, we’ve been experimenting with some old recipes to look at the possibility of bringing them back. We submitted the label in case we wanted to bottle some of it.”

And is there a last name more proper than Mashington for someone working in the brewing industry?
