More labels came through this week…
Mikkeller Beer Hop Breakfast: According to RateBeer, this hoppy version of Beer Geek Breakfast Stout is already available in parts of Europe. It uses Simcoe and Columbus hops as well as coffee from Coffee Collective. This beer is dry-hopped unlike the original.
Block 15 Pappy’s Dark Bourbon Barrel Aged Specialty Ale: The brewery indicated in a tweet a few weeks ago that they were aiming for a February 1st release.
Label copy…”European malts blend harmoniously with the aromas and flavors of vanilla, coconut, oak, caramel, and imagination contributed by the freshly emptied Kentucky bourbon barrels this ale was matured in. This yearly bottle offering is a result of blending the finest barrels hand picked by our brewers.”
Brau Brothers Moo Joos Oatmeal Milk Stout: “Moo Joos combines the full body of a Milk Stout with the silky smoothness of an Oatmeal Stout. Lactose sugar in the boil contributes a full and creamy mouthfeel while toasted and flaked oats in the mash round out the beer with an oily texture. A deep malt bill builds layers of roasty notes with hints of chocolate, coffee and anise. A traditional British Cask Yeast is then pitched, which leaves us with a fruity, malty ale.”
Four Peaks Hop Knot: This beer, already available in bottles, got approval for can packaging. Also of note, the brewery spoke out against the Black IPA/CDA “craze.” Do you think this style is a fad or here to stay?
