In this edition, some updates from SoCal and Oregon…
…The Bruery announced that its collaboration with Cigar City Brewing, to be released this year, will be called Marron Acidifie. Details remain scarce at the moment but here are a few details from a late 2009 Brewing Network interview via weatherdog on BA:
– They brewed it on November 9 and 10 2009.
– The beer is along the lines of a sour brown ale.
– 16.5 degrees plato OG fermented with lacto and pedio and maybe Brett put in later; all sour yeast used, no Saccharomyces.
– They also might blend another sour mash version into the 30 barrels already brewed.
– It will be aged on wood with California dates and Miami Black Sapotes used for a secondary fermentation in the barrels.
The Bruery also apologized for Saturday’s Reserve Society party fiasco.
