Notes from half a dozen breweries below…
…Per a video from the New School Blog, Hopworks Urban Brewery‘s Christian Ettinger says that the brewery grew from 4,400 barrels in 2009 to just under 6,400 barrels in 2010, a 45% increase. Ettinger hopes that the brewery will produce between 9,000 and 10,000 barrels in 2011 as he acquires more tanks to bring capacity up to 12,000 barrels. HUB began distribution to Idaho last month and may consider northern California in the future as part of a sustainable growth model.
…Crooked Stave‘s Chad Yakobson tells me, “Crooked Stave has received TTB approval. As well we brewed our first batch which is the first in a series of beers called Wild Wild Brett. This inaugural batch is undergoing primary fermentation in oak barrels with three strains of Brettanomyces split between the barrels. Were also unloading a shipment of 21 oak barrels tomorrow night which brings our barrel count up to 48 barrels.”
…Ballast Point Sea Monster Imperial Stout was just released in 22 oz. bottles.
…From Telegraph Brewing‘s latest newsletter, “We’re rolling out some new beers with the new year. Telegraph Brown Ale makes an appearance at the tasting room starting January 27th. Petit Obscura is a new sour “wild ale” made with the second runnings of a batch of the Rhinoceros Rye Wine… it’s a small beer with a twist, available in 750-ml bottles only, starting in February. We’ll also have Reserve Wheat bottles and Rhinoceros bottles available very soon.”
…Per Westword’s Jonathon Shikes, “Dry Dock Brewing, which began distributing one of its beers to a handful of local liquor stores last fall, is rolling out an expanded lineup this month. And the Aurora beer began pouring three brews — Seven Seas Double IPA, Vanilla Porter and its award-winning U-Boat Hefeweizen — into 22-ounce bottles on Friday.”
…Uncommon Baltic Porter cans will arrive in stores any day now.
No link to Brewpublic? First to run HUB CDA and Baxter story… Hmmm? Still, love reading the Beer News. org
Thanks for commenting, Angelo. With hundreds of beer blogs & sources, it’s virtually impossible to track them all and I haven’t checked Brewpublic in the past two weeks I’m sorry to say! I found the Sun Journal report in Google News & the New School video in my beer videos rss feed, both of which I check regularly. I’ll send you some linkage soon, don’t you worry.
