(Nantucket, MA) – Four new releases from Cisco Brewers coming in 2011…
Per the brewery’s official website, it looks like they have released two new beers in The Woods series:
Winter Woods – Flemish Braggot Smoke Spice Oak: Lambic critters, French oak barrels. Pinot Noir grapes. Mulling spices. 1000 lbs raw local honey. Cherrywood smoked malt. 9% abv. $16/750 ml bottle and currently on draft.
White Woods – Unfiltered base ale brewed with malted wheat and flaked oats. 18 months in used french oak Chardonnay barrels with proprietary blend of micro flora have created perfumes of lemon blossom, sandalwood, and tropical fruit. Lychee, nectarine, and white peach on the palate. Nice balance of oak-chardonnay richness and lactic bacterial contributions. 5.3% abv cs: 195 1/6 bbl: 90. $16/750 ml bottle.
Boston Magazine’s Anne Vickman goes into more depth on Winter Woods in her review.
Also of note, according to Daily West’s Norman Miller, Cisco The Woods Pechish Ale will be bottled this year and Sankaty Light will be released in cans. Pechish is an oak-aged ale that uses peaches as one of the fermentables.
Finally, Cisco Grey Lady Ale will soon be packaged in 12 oz. bottles.
