(Downingtown, PA) – Victory Brewing held its first-ever state of the brewery address last night.
Playing off of Monday’s State of the Union address, Victory followed the President’s lead with their own update on what’s new at the brewery. Because many people don’t have 20 minutes to watch the two videos, here are the highlights (I still encourage you to watch as these notes are incomplete):
* Sales in 2010 reached 58,828 barrels (810,000 case equivalent) which is an 18% increase from 2009
* Capacity went from 67,000 barrels to a “theoretical” 100,000 barrels with last year’s expansion
* The brewery added several new wholesalers in Florida in 2010 – now working with 74 wholesalers nationally
* Victory Dark Intrigue production is expected to increase 5x in 2011 (12 bourbon barrels to 60 bourbon barrels)
* Victory Summer Love will be in wider distribution in 12 oz. bottles
*Growth at Dogfish Head may prevent a re-release of Saison du Buff this year (but it wasn’t made clear as to whether it can still be released again out of Stone or Victory)
* No cans coming in 2011
* The Easton project fell through as reported early last month
* 24 new employees were hired in 2010 with the brewery total now up to over 180
