(Ipswich, MA) – Clown Shoes Beer is happy to announce that the trucks have been packed and pallets of great beer are headed to the Chicago and Maine markets. The initial launch will include the much-heralded year-round lineup including Hoppy Feet black IPA, Clementine white ale, Brown Angel brown ale, and Eagle Claw Fist imperial amber. The entire portfolio will be available later this spring. Clown Shoes urges fans in their new territory to join them on Facebook (Clown Shoes Beer) and Twitter (@clownshoesbeer) to keep up to date with the latest on news, events, and promotions in the new markets.

Clown Shoes fans in the Chicago area will initially find the beers in Binny’s locations as well as popular on-premise accounts throughout the city. Following the initial rollout, Clown Shoes beers can be acquired at most retail, restaurant, and pub locations serviced by their distributor, Stoller Wholesale.

Maine is the latest addition to the New England region for Clown Shoes, as the beers are already available in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Be sure to check out your favorite stores and bars in the next few weeks to give Clown Shoes a try. Central Distributors out of Lewiston will be distributing the beer in Maine.

Clown Shoes will continue it’s expansion later this spring and into the summer with the addition of select East Coast markets as well as a planned brewery-direct relationship in the works with a large, multi-state company. Stay tuned for future announcements.

About Clown Shoes

Something’s happening, and it involves clown shoes and beer. Clown Shoes? Very long story, but to condense it a group of us submitted the name to the Beer Advocate contest that resulted in a Dogfish Head Beer called “The Wrath of Pecant”. Our submission didn’t crack the top 5. This burned us up inside. While driving one day the epiphany came: why not create our OWN beer and call it Clown Shoes? In no way did anyone expect to create a brand, figuring it would be one batch of beer for fun and then done. But folks are digging the brews and a group of us are having a great time. Clown Shoes has come to mean a lot on many levels. Clowns are questionable but the shoes are funny–they remind us about humility and to find humor in life. Our mission now is to produce beer without pretension while being free and a little crazy.

  2. Very excited to try their beers but the name of this brewery is just awful.
I think they’ve officially beat out Jolly Pumpkin as the “worst named brewery” for me.
