(Bend, OR) – Deschutes Brewery‘s 2011 lineup will include a new offering.

In addition to the tip sheet info attached below, I asked Digital Marketing Manager, Jason Randles, for some extra info on Stoic and the Hair of the Dog collaboration. Here’s his response: “The Stoic is our next Reserve Series beer that we hope to release to the public in April. If we hear back from the TTB in time we will have some draft available at a kick-off party during CBC in San Fran. The Stoic is a Belgian-Style Quad brewed with Pomegranate Molasses and aged in Rye Whiskey & Oregon wine barrels. The beers we brewed for the Hair of the Dog Collaboration are still aging in a variety of oak barrels so we do not have a release date, name or description for that beer yet.”

The Stoic

When: April
What: Reserve Series (22-ounce wax-dipped bottles and draft)
The newest beer to join our coveted Reserve Series, this brew is so new that we can’t even really tell you about it yet. Actually, it’s top secret until a sneak preview during Deschutes Brewery Base Camp Week in San Francisco during the Craft Brewers Conference. Want to find out more about this philosophical beer? We’ll see you in San Francisco!

Where: Very limited, available in most states where Deschutes is sold

Twilight Summer Ale

When: Available May to September
What: Summer Seasonal (12-ounce bottles and draft)

As the summer days stretch into night, Twilight Ale comes to celebrate the long lazy hours. It’s a lighter, yet full-flavored ale with an attractive aroma. A complementary malt presence imparts just enough tension to its refreshing, crisp, dry profile. Signature Amarillos make Twilight something best enjoyed chilled and savored outdoors.

Where: Available in all 16 states where Deschutes is sold

Beer Geek Information:
5.0% Alcohol by Volume (ABV)
35 International Bittering Units (IBUs)

Hop in the Dark – Cascadian Dark Ale

When: Available May – September 2010
What: Bond Street Series (22-ounce bottles and draft)

Over the past year, no style has received more attention than the Cascadian Dark Ale, or Black IPA. Accolades abound for Deschutes Brewery’s take on this movement: Hop in the Dark ranked in the top 10 beers of 2010 by Modern Brewery Age; and top 25 beers of 2010 by both Draft Magazine and Wine Spectator.

We love this description given to Hop in the Dark by Imbibe Magazine: “A year of experimentation created this raven-colored ale that, due to a quartet of hops – Cascade, Amarillo, Centennial and Citra – packs an intensely pungent IPA bouquet. The malt profile is smooth, with a gentle touch of coffee to temper the citric bitterness.” Raven-colored ale? It’s poetry! We think you’ll agree when you take the plunge – a hop, if you will – into this year’s Hop in the Dark.
