(New Glarus, WI) – I failed.
[2/10 Update: Worth noting but I forgot in the original piece…New Glarus was up around 17% in 2010.]
[2/10 Update II: Word from the brewery is that they are still refining the recipe for Two Women Lager to make sure it’s right before it’s released so they’re not making a timetable public on it for now. Meanwhile, a store rep confirmed that the first ‘mystery’ Thumb Print release will be an Imperial IPA but that didn’t come from the brewery so take it for what it’s worth.]
I bought what New Glarus Brewing was selling hook, line and sinker back in November: a 2011 calendar with relatively few changes from 2010. As it would turn out, locals were already sharing news before then that the brewery would jostle around its beer lineup more than they have in recent memory. Here’s to better late than never (courtesy of Riley’s Wines of the World)…
First, the brewery has re-packaged its Unplugged Series as the Thumb Print Series. New Glarus is offering multiple releases throughout the year based on consumer input as they have in the past along with two additional beers as part of this group.
January – March: Smoked Rye Ale
April – June: Imperial Weizen
July – September: Cran-bic
October – December: Apple Ale
There is another mystery Thumb Print beer that will be available for the first half of the year that doesn’t appear to have been released yet as well as another beer slated for the second half of the year.
New Glarus is also introducing Black Top Black IPA and Laughing Fox Crystal Weizen as seasonals in October.
