The Bruery Bottleworks XII release imminent?

The Bruery Bottleworks XII

(Seattle, WA) – Bottleworks XII cleared for release.

The Bruery was responsible for making this year’s anniversary beer for Seattle-based Bottleworks. The store has also worked with Hair of the Dog, Russian River and others in the past. André at RateBeer, who also happens to run NWMicrobrews.com, the first site that ever posted labels online (to my knowledge) about a decade ago, got a sneak peek of the label as well as a description:

Base beer: Imperial Witbier, 8% ABV, sour mashed 1-2 days, and fermented with a blend of Berliner Weisse culture and Belgian Witbier yeast. Beer is barrel fermented in large red wine barrels (132 gal. barrels). Raspberries are added to the beer towards the end of fermentation directly to the barrel, and aged on the raspberries for a minimum of 1 month. The Berliner culture contains souring bacteria and the raspberries will add acidity to the beer.

He reports in the thread that the beer may be released the week of the 24th or possibly the week after though the rest of the web has been pretty quiet about this one. No official announcement has been made.

Bottleworks previously announced that it will work with Stone Brewing for the 13th Anniversary beer, and Cascade Brewing for the 14th Anniversary beer.

Also of note, Bottleworks ownership, also owners of Brouwer’s Cafe, will hold the 9th Hard Liver Barleywine Fest at the bar beginning March 12th.
