Weyerbacher 2011 Update: Oscar and 2011 schedule

A few highlights:

[…] February will also be bringing Oscar to a bar near you. Oscar is going to be a 7% Hefeweizen/IPA hybrid or a “Hoppy Hefe”. It should be cloudy and yellow in appearance, much like a typical German-Style Hefeweizen and it will be IPA-like in hop profile. We aim to keep the banana character to a minimum and accentuate the clove. The result should be a medium-bodied ale with a spicy clove character that blends well with the spicy side of the Hallertuaer and Saaz hop varieties.

2011 Schedule:
January – Fireside Ale
February – Heresy & Insanity
March – Slam Dunkel & Tiny (Tiny goes year-round with this)
April/May – Blanche
May – Blasphemy returns after 3 years, in 750 Cork n Cage!
June – Sixteen (16th Anniversary, style tba)
July – Imperial Pumpkin Ale begins shipping (through end of September)
August – Autumnfest
September – Fresh picked hops Harvest Ale
October – Winter Ale
November – QUAD

Additionally, of course, we’ll have our one-off series following the NATO alphabet with Oscar in late February followed by the next about every 2 months.

Riserva will be back sometime this summer, we think. These wild ales are hard to predict and sometimes uncooperative as you well know.

We also expect to have another Wild Ale release sometime mid-year.
