(Boston, MA) – Boston Beer Co. has got approval for two beers likely to be contestants in this year’s Beer Lover’s Choice competition.
The first is the fairly non-descript Samuel Adams Oaked Ale and the other is Samuel Adams Maple Wood Porter (aged on oak staves). The winner will be determined after a number of tastings that will take place over the summer. Eventually, the winning beer finds its way into a Samuel Adams package whether it be a 6-pack or a variety pack (but usually the latter).
I had the opportunity to sample the Maple Wood Porter on tap at the brewery in Boston. It is amazing and hopefully it wins because they need to bottle that beer.
