(Longmont, CO) – Remember to do your due diligence, folks.
Just to be clear, Left Hand Brewing is NOT pulling distribution from Nebraska or New Mexico.
I thought I was so smart to have found the differences between Left Hand’s new map and their old one and determined their distribution changes from the past few/several months. I contacted the brewery last week for some general info and didn’t hear back but didn’t make it clear what I would be reporting either. So here’s both a retraction and an apology…
Nebraska and New Mexico are just erroneous omissions from the new map. Below is the full scoop on distribution changes and other happenings:
Just to set the record straight, we are not pulling out of New Mexico or Nebraska. At the end of 2010 we pulled out of Alaska, Knoxville TN, Florida Panhandle and the Alabama Coast (Mobile). Last week, we pulled out of Iowa.
As far as new beers, we have introduced Stranger APA in 6pks and draft. It is a brand new recipe for us – American citrus hop aromas that play well with the rye malt – comes in around 5% ABV – sessionable. And we launched TNT – a weizen doppelbock brewed with Lapsung Suochong black tea – available in 22oz and draft – part of our Big Mo Series of beers. Won’t come back for another 2 years. We have discontinued Jackman’s APA and Haystack Wheat.
We finished 2010 up 34.5%, and are up 59% so far this year. Good problems to have for sure. We’re ¾ through a $3.2 million dollar expansion, including the purchase of a 3.4 acre parcel/building across the street. And, no, no plans to can.
After three years, still getting the hang of this blogging thing…

Still best beer blogger out there.
Keep up the good work, Adam. Best in the business.
Thanks for the kudos. Still, it really sucks to screw up something like that & it always seems to happen when I don’t link to the source I got it from…

Okay, I’m confused – they said they pulled out of Iowa but their website, as of today, lists a distributor in Davenport. ??
Their inaccurate maps were actually the impetus for me reporting their distributing changes so I wouldn’t go by them at all.
