My friends said not to bore you with my sob story so I’ll do my best to keep this short.
It looks like what I’ve built up has proven to provide some value based on what I can see in the analytics and with the amount of sharing going on out there on the web (thank you!). My goal was to set that value with the new site and finally make back some of the $10,000 I’ve invested (wish I was joking). Hell, someone else even set the value for a similar news product at $300/year. Wow. [ed. note: Just want to be clear that I acknowledge that publication is targeted more to wholesalers. I included it here to illustrate that news services like CBD, Beernews and others are pretty valuable. Making a living while serving a primarily “consumer” audience (versus an enterprise audience) can be challenging though.]
Anyway, my plan was in motion until something happened to my developer. He’s been gone for three weeks and I’m up shit creek without a paddle until he returns…whenever that is. With things about 90% done and my money 90% drained…talk about bad timing! I didn’t insure against that and that’s a lesson well-learned.
So, here’s the ask:
If you represent a business and would like to help out as “a supporter” with a logo on the sidebar or you’re interested in buying actual banner ad space with targeting options, etc., please send me an email: BEERSAGE -AT- GMAIL DOT DOM. If you don’t represent a business, a donation would be stellar but I understand you may not be in a position to make one. I’m in the same boat. Bonus points if you know how to make a personal payment on Paypal (so that Paypal doesn’t take a 10% cut). My paypal email is APNASON -AT- GMAIL DOT COM. I have a creative way in mind of recognizing individual donors in the future. I think you’ll like it (but that’s not a promise).
I’ll be calling around for potential advertisers, too, but I don’t expect to get paid by them tomorrow so a few bucks will help out in the meantime.
I don’t say thanks nearly enough for all the people who visit here everyday. Hopefully the appreciation is evident through the amount of effort that I put into the site.
Cheers!
Adam
