Part II of today’s three-part set of beer notes…

Cascade Brewing: Per a couple recent e-blasts, “We’re stocking up at the Barrel House, and in the last week we’ve added 50 wine barrels from Lange Estate Winery & Vineyards in Dundee, and 50 Heaven Hill Kentucky Bourbon barrels dating back as far as 1985! The barrel room is on the verge of uncomfortable, with 400 barrels in inventory.

In the brewery, we’re brewing four batches of Bourbonic Plague right now, laying down stock for 2012 and 2013. We’re no longer making beer for just one year; we’re now allocating a portion of each batch for succeeding years. In June, look for Nightfall on draft, a Gingered Honey Rye, plus 2010 Apricot and 2010 Sang Royal in bottles. […]

In other beer news, our Spring Pale will likely be on draft line today or tomorrow – at only 4.8%, this is a great session beer. We’ll finish kegging off Nightfall, our NW style sour ale made with organic Chilean blackberries, early next week – it should be available in a month or so. The last of the 2010 Sang Noir is currently on tap at the Barrel house, so get it while there’s still some left to be had.”

On tap tomorrow is Apple Pie: “This live barrel of NW style sour blond ale was initially aged for six months in oak, then aged on Granny Smith apples for another two months. It was then blended with vintage apple beer and additionally aged with Bourbon vanilla bean and Granada cinnamon.”

Maui Brewing: Craft Business Daily reports (via Jack Curtin) that the brewery is expanding distribution to Nevada and Arizona. The Hawaii-based brewery is also considering an East Coast state that could spin off further distribution on the East Coast.

Oakshire Brewing: Unleashed both Glen’s Hop Vice and Cooperative Suds IPA over the past week or so. Line Dry Rye returns this week.

Sudwerks Brewery: The Full Pint reports, “Sudwerks brewery of Sacramento, CA, has expanded to 3 new states. Those include Arizona, Arkansas and Pennsylvania. They have been piggy backing off of Moylan’s/Marin’s system.”

On the Tracks Brewery: New Carlsbad-based brewery held its grand opening this past weekend.

Bonus I: An interview with Mercury Brewing President (east coast, I know), Rob Martin, on the beer industry. Part 1 and Part 2 (gets better in the second part). Meanwhile, Martin finds himself squarely in the middle of a legal battle.
