Part 2 of today’s beer notes…spanning breweries east of the Mississippi (and international).
Struise: Per Facebook, “Struise will launch a new beer in about 2 months. 12% alc. Vol, 250 IBU, Black Indian Pale Ale, a freaking Imperial Black IPA… called S.H.I.T. Abbrevition for Supreme Hoppy Internal Trouble. In the future it ‘ll be part of the Black Damnation series, to be more exact, N° 8.”
Saranac: Per the blog, “we decided to change our Trail Mix to feature four beers: Saranac Pale Ale, Saranac Adirondack Lager, Saranac Black Forest and Saranac IPA. Saranac Trail Mix will continue to be available in 6-packs and 12-packs. In addition, our four seasonal 12-packs, What Ales You?, 12 Beers of Summer, 12 Beers A Falling, and 12 Beers of Winter, have been given extra attention to highlight each appropriate season. Watch for the new look on packaging for these unique Saranac beers made especially for their respective seasons.”
DuClaw Brewing: Per the blog, “22oz bottles [of Colossus] will be shipping to retailers next week. The price is set by the retailers, but expect it to be a few dollars higher this year per bottle.”
Flossmoor Station: Per the blog, “We have a new sour on now, which is our Candor American Sour blend. It’s about 50/50 of a sour, that I have no clue as to what it was originally, but I do know that it was put away to sour back in 2009 (or at least I think I do). To balance out its tartness, I added 50% Station Master Wheat, which helps to make a more palatable beverage. Next in our line up of sours is the Playground Savior, which Mark put together (and also named). It’s the same base sour as the Candor, but blended with the .357 Pilz and an addition of Apple juice, which creates a very interesting, and highly alcoholic sour, which is really tasty! The Savior will be coming along after Candor kicks!”
Half Acre Beer Co.: Added a 60bbl fermenter. Meanwhile the brewery is http://twitter.com/applejack_Colo“>having challenges meeting demand.
Troegs Brewery: Aiming for brewhouse delivery in August
East End Brewing: Bigger Hop draft coming July 2nd and bottles coming July 9th
Sweetwater Brewing: According to the Atlanta Beer Master, SweetWater’s next Dank Tank Series beer will be a brown ale heavily hopped with Columbus called The Brown Eye Buckeye. Coming next Monday only on draft.
Yazoo Brewing: Per the blog, “Bottled 6/16/11, should be marked “52 06.16.11 on the label – First wort hopped with Magnum, then Columbus, Cascade for bittering, Centennial, Magnum for aroma, dryhopped with Magnum, Phoenix, and Cascade.”
Jackalope Brewing: Per the blog, the Nashville-based brewery had to change the name of its beer, “Puck,” (ode to the Predators hockey team?) to “Thunder Ann.” Why? Because Labatt has a trademark for “Drop the Puck.”
Night Shift Brewing: Per the brewery blog, “We’re really excited to announce that NSB is one big step closer to production after having signed a great lease on a brewing space in Everett, MA. It’s a great fit for us, only 15 minutes away from our “office” in Somerville, and, equally exciting, is right next to fellow brewery, Idle Hands. Construction begins soon as we look toward ordering equipment and finally getting our license. In the meantime, we of course continue to brew and experiment in the NSB kitchen at home.” H/T to TMRZoo.
