Round 2 of today’s beer notes update.
UPDATE…Tyranena Brewing: Fresh off of the new newsletter, Tyranena is brewing “two double batches of HopWh0re Imperial IPA.”
Avery Brewing: Announced via newsletter that the release of Immitis (Immitus?), which will be no. 9 in the Barrel Aged Series, is slated for September 10th. Old Jubilation will be released a few days later on September 15th.
Peace Tree Brewing: From the brewery blog, “Next up is our fall seasonal Cornucopia! The first 2011 batch should be hitting shelves around the end of August. It will again be available in 6-packs or on draft. We have been getting lots of requests for it and are doing two big batches, however, when it’s gone you won’t find it again until next summer!
And finally, Joe is brewing up some more of his fabulous Double IPA. So fabulous, we have decided to take it out of the Brewer’s Special Release program and give it a proper name. It will now be known as Hop Sutra and will hit store shelves just after Labor Day. We will also be adding four pack ring carriers to make it easier for stores to stock in their cold cases. Stay tuned for the next Brewer’s Special Release announcement sometime this fall!”
Wilderness Brewing: Successfully funded its startup brewery in Kansas City using Kickstarter, raising over $40k. Another startup that I spoke to recently said that breweries may not be allowed to seek funding just for starting up. Perhaps it will need to be a more-focused project…
Renegade Brewing: Denver-based brewpub opened its doors last month…
Arcadia Brewing: Sky High Rye cans will debut in late October, Kalamabrew reports.
Bonus I: On the heels of news of a mid-single digits drop, Ad Age asks, “What is wrong with Miller Lite?”
Bonus II: Equinox Brewing has a keg trike.
Bonus III: Yesterday’s #IPADay celebration hit Twitter in a big way with the hashtag trending in multiple cities: San Diego, Raleigh, Denver and Chicago.
Bonus IV: A short blurb on MillerCoors eyeing craft with Tenth and Blake.
Bonus V: Lagunitas might be saving a local park.
Bonus VI: Mashable posted the ten most-shared beer ads of all-time.
Immitis is a third declension adjective (meaning it ends in -is or -e) as opposed to the more common first-second adjectives (which end in -us, -a, or -um). it means, “not soft or mellow, harsh, rough, sour” – Lewis & Short.
