Now for the other dozen plus labels that came in today…
Sixpoint Diesel: Not approved yet but posted on Facebook by the brewery. This is a 6.4% ABV American Stout. Based on Sixpoint’s comments, the brewery hopes that its beers will be in CT by the end of the year (or at least in 2012).
Four Poco Loko: This appears to be a new product/branding thing which, in itself, isn’t terribly interesting to most readers here. Look closer at the label and you will see that there is a QR code. These are picking up steam in the beer world though I have yet to see a link to an app that could be as useful on a mobile device as this one. Nice job by the Phusion Projects team or whoever they outsourced the work to…worth looking at for breweries considering QR codes on their labels.
Grand Teton Wake Up Imperial Coffee Porter: Per the brewery website, this will be, “available on September 1st in bottle-conditioned 750mL bottles and on draft.” Description: “Wake Up Call Imperial Coffee Porter has a distinct and robust coffee flavor that blends harmoniously with the roasted malts. Caramel, chocolate, and black malts give this ale its dark color and overtones of caramel and a cocoa-like sweetness. Only very gently hopped, the addition of coffee shines through, providing a delicious accent to this brew.”
New Albanian Jaxon Barleywine
Beer Valley Delta 9 IPA
Two Beers Heart of Darkness Cascadian Dark Ale
Marshall Big Jamoke Porter (12 oz)
Marshall Oktoberfest
Mother’s Winter Grind (ale with coffee beans)
Coronado Bugger Brown
Coronado North Island Ale
Coronado Stoopid Stout
Northshire Chocolate Stout
Highland Black Ace IPA
Keuka Local Mocha Stout
Quimera Sparkling Ale
I can’t wait for the new Grand Teton Coffee Porter! Sounds Awesome!
The problem with the sixpoint packaging is that it does not say what type of beer it is. I’ve picked up a couple of their products, wondered what the hell beer was actually inside, and then placed it back on the shelf and picked up and purchased a competitor’s product b/c I knew what the competitor’s product was.
Cool UPC label though.
Another problem with the labeling on the Sixpoint cans, any of them, is that they don’t really say where they’re brewed. There is no canning line anywhere in Brooklyn… :/
