(Frederick, MD) – A few more details on Flying Dog Brewery‘s upcoming release…
You saw may have seen a sneak peek of The Fear Imperial Pumpkin Ale label earlier this summer. Baltimore Beer Guy reported in July that it is expected to hit shelves the last week of September. The brewery hasn’t announced any release details yet like timing and distribution.
Beer description and stats courtesy of the brewery:
Why is there only one time of year – as goblins, ghouls, and ghosts frolic on front lawns – when we embrace THE FEAR? At all other times, THE FEAR dominates us, controls us, and prevents us from greatness. What is there to THE FEAR? Disagreement? Criticism? Humiliation? Whatever THE FEAR is that consumes you, embrace it, along with this Imperial Pumpkin Ale. Only then will the true artist in you rise up.
A little liquid courage, in the form of this Imperial Pumpkin Ale, can’t hurt. The Fear is dark, robust and (weighing in at 9% ABV) bold. Black in color from chocolate malt and black wheat, it’s brewed with local squash puree and infused with cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and cloves — giving it a pumpkin pie flavor with subtlety sweet graham cracker and chocolate notes. Now, is there anything to fear?
Hops: Warrior, Willamette
Specialty Malts: 2 row pale, Cara-Brown, Midnight Wheat, Chocolate and small amounts of Munich and Vienna
Availability: 6-packs and drafts
I emailed Flying Dog in July and wanted to know if the release would reach Texas; unfortunately, a customer service rep emailed me back and said it would only be distributed in their local Mid-Atlantic area. Of course, that was two months ago and things could have changed since then . . .
Thanks for the info, dude!
