(Portland, ME) – News and notes on Allagash Brewing…
– Starting to see some reports like this one of Allagash’s collaboration with De La Senne called Very Spéciale Belge
– According to its Twitter account, the brewery picked around 1,600 pounds of grapes to use in brewing the 2012 batches of Victor Ale and Victoria Ale this month
– No updates on Ghoulschip bottles
Finally, as learned from a Heritage Radio Network interview with Rob Tod:
– A UC Davis student has been working on a study around microbes (Tod’s word) at the different stages of the barrel aging process using Allagash beers.
And in just three years, the brewery has:
1) Cut the number of states that it ships beer from 28 to 16 (Beernews.org reported withdrawal of product from the WA and TX markets earlier this year)
2) Cut the number of wholesalers from 44 to 22
