Victory Dark Intrigue no longer being made after 2011

UPDATE: At some point, Victory updated the blog post, noting that this will be the last-ever release of Dark Intrigue.

(Downingtown, PA) – Victory Brewing brewer, Jordan Sunseri, talks about Dark Intrigue in these two videos.

Our Storm King Stout spent the summer in bourbon barrels from Jim Beam and Heaven Hill Distilleries, and has finally emerged as Dark Intrigue. […] Dark Intrigue will be released here at the Downingtown retail location on Nov. 23, a day we are calling Dark Wednesday. Not only will you be able to purchase the dark and intriguing boozy beverage, but you’ll be part of Victory history (and possibly the morning news!).

It appears as though Victory is courting lots of media attention with this release. Will this be the next Black Tuesday-type beer release event? If nothing else, it looks like The Bruery inspired the event name. [ed. note: or as a commenter notes, it will be release the day before Black Friday. D’oh!]

Which brewery will claim Opaque Thursday?

  1. Black Wednesday is not actually in reference to The Bruery’s Black Tuesday, but instead meant to be a reference to Black Friday — the day after Thanksgiving — since this release is the day before Thanksgiving.
