
Michigan in hot water with another craft brewery: Bell’s
State lawmakers say the bill will crack down on underage drinking, but the lawsuit claims it also unfairly targets Michigan’s microbrewery industry.
According to MIRS, Bell’s owner, Larry Bell, says the bill will take away the incentive to return kegs, which will cost breweries money. He also says it will restrict the number of people who can purchase kegs.
In March, Flying Dog Brewery sued the Michigan Liquor Control Commission over censorship of First Amendment rights.
